WIP Wednesday

Well it feels great to be back behind the sewing machine after a break over Christmas.  My first project for the year is a quilt for my husband.  I think he was feeling a little left out :)

When I asked him what colours he'd like, he answered 'blue' so I asked 'what other colours would you like?' and he continued to answer 'blue and blue'.  So that is almost what he's getting.  I decided it needed a little something and added in a splash of red.

Block A - are all completed.

Block B - are all completed.

Block C - are in progress

And then there are the pile of bags with the remainder of the quilt

I decided to make the Rapid City quilt from the book Modern Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman.

I am using Michael Miller's Cotton Couture Indigo for the background and for the backing and Cotton Couture Fog for the trees.  I was a little worried that some of the darker blues would blend a little too much but seeing them now I am happy that there is enough difference in their depth of colour.

In other news, I have booked myself in for some sewing classes at Sew This & That over the next 3 months which I am excited about.  My first one is tomorrow night and is for the BOM using Marti Michell templates.  This is something completely new to me, so I am excited about learning something new.

I'll be back later in the week with an update on the class.

I hope everyone is having a great week.

Thanks for stopping by.
